Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all our supporters. It has been a great year for Haemochromatosis Australia, with our first Haemochromatosis Awareness Week and other efforts to raise awareness of haemochromatosis. Our vision is that no Australian will suffer harm from haemochromatosis, and with help, we will make that happen. Calls to our INFO LINE 1300 019 028 have increased from one a day in 2011 to three a day this year. We published our new, free information book Haemochromatosis Your Questions Answered, redesigned our website, issued four newsletters, ran a TV commercial in Tasmania, saw a senator and three MPs address parliament about haemochromatosis, held ten public information sessions and so much more. It has been a bit of a strain on our resources but our members’ support and generous donations have kept us going strong. We are an organisation run by volunteers and it is our members and supporters who are our strength. Thank you to everyone who did your bit for raising awareness this year – whether it was by joining or renewing your membership, donating or raising funds for us, putting up a poster or sharing one of our information booklets, talking to people about haemochromatosis, riding a bicycle from Shanghai to Dublin or ‘liking’ and sharing our Facebook page. It all helps. If you’re feeling generous and would like to spread the holiday cheer, you ccan make a small donation to help kick-strat next year's activities here. Thank you all from Marg, Ben, Desma, Brian, Karin, Linda, James and Tony.
