DESCRIPTION:This is our first new members’ online get-together. It has been difficult to organise face to face meetings in the past because of limited resources, the wide distribution of our members around Australia and more recently COVID-19. We want to support our members and help especially our new members understand and manage their condition. Doing it by Zoom makes it easier for many people to join in. It’s easy – you can join on your computer (you will need a speaker/headphones and microphone to hear and speak), on your smartphone, iPad or tablet and using an ordinary landline telephone.\nWe’re hoping you will tell us the types of things you would like to discuss or learn and guide us on how these virtual group meetings should evolve. We will have some members of our management committee and some of our Volunteer Advocates join in. They will share their experiences and stories. You too will be able to share your stories, ask questions and offer suggestions if you choose to. Or you can sit back and listen to the others.\nWe have also scheduled a second event for Thursday 6 May at 2pm if you can’t make it to this one. We will hold more events like this throughout the year and will be guided by you on how often and when we should schedule them.
